I think its really important that we know exactly what point we want to make with the film, because I think our idea has changed from the original one.
I know we want to show two opposing ways in which we prepare and eat a meal. But I think we need to decide if we want to talk about why it is that we choose between the different ways. So for example it could just be that we are lazy or it could be that we just dont have time.
Ive been thinking of ways in which we could do this, and I thought maybe follow someone over a week on what they eat and when. This would show us what effects this. It might be a rubbish idea but i thought of someone maybe doing a blog about what they eat. But I don't really know if thats any good, if anyone else has an idea of how we can show it?

Shooting
Hey guys, after we spoke and looking at what you have posted about shot types. i feel like it may be beneficial if everyone has seen the films, requiem for a dream. and the film spun. these films both use extreme close ups with clean precise sound to create an effect. i feel like in our piece if the monologue cuts out at times and we can have a fast paced montage of cutting carrots etc with clean crisp sound intercut with other parts of cooking it can be made to look cinematically beautiful from that sense. im working on the monologue atm, i will post some of it on here tomorrow. if anyone is free over easter aswel it could be beneficial to meet up and maybes film some of the close up shots ,

This article is focussing on packaging being misleading. The guidelines towards eating cereal recommend an amount which is half of what most people actually eat themselves. This is fooling people into believing what they are eating is better for them than it actually is. The only way to strictly follow the guidelines would be to actually weigh out the amount of cereal you are eating. I found this piece of information is quite interesting considering the companies are legally allowed to do this despite how misleading it is.

Shots - Examples
After our meeting I wanted to find some visual example of the kind of shots we were talking about. I think it would be best to make sure the shots of the two different types of meals we are trying to represent are tightly framed. This will ensure the focus is on the preperation of the food and not the character. Ive tried to find some examples of this used, the first one i thought about was parts of Gordon Ramsays show. The camera focuses alot on the food, there are alot of closeups. Ive posted the link of a video on youtube. Its obviously not exactly how we would do it but you get the idea.

Ideas after tutorial
I think developing our inital idea and looking at eating habits and why we need so much fast microvable food is really interesting. I also think it will give us more to actually film rather than just simply packaging.
Ive found a few interesting articles on the British Library website about how our eating habits have change over recent years, here is the link;
http://www.bl.uk/learning/citizenship/foodstories/Accessible/eatinghabits/changesineatinghabits.html
The way some of the writers have looked at their childhood eating habits compared to now is really interesting. We could start looking at how our own habits have changed and why.
